The symbiotic process of feeding a plant with the waste water of a fish tank has the name aquaponics. Aquaponics provides greater shrub yields and healthier fish that are easier to care involving. These systems can become in any size, from small 5-gallon species of fish tanks and single herb systems to commercial setups bigger than a swimming pool. With no dirt to decontaminate up and less waste to fix from the fish reservoir, maintaining an aquaponic system takes little care. Fill the plant pot with garden pebbles along with the plant and set it on the shelf or table that is about 2 feet compared to where you plan on keeping the fish tank. You will rely on gravity to advance water through the system and therefore the plant must be kept above the tank.

Secure 1 yard of plastic tubing to your hole in the bottom in the plant pot with superglue. This tubing will empty into the fish tank set following the pot.

Connect the other two yards of plastic tubing to your small water pump together with set the available ends of the tubes in the pot gravel along with the fish tank water. The water will be pumped up with the fish tank and on the plant pot, and the clarified water with the plant pot will return into the fish reservoir.

Feed the fish normally - about the maximum amount food as the fish can eat in several minutes, twice a day. Maintain the system by cleaning the tank as needed, about once a week. Replace one-quarter of the pool used with clean, room-temperature water, once a week.
